In most real estate transactions, the total commission is split between the listing agent and the buyer’s agent. This means an individual agent typically earns only a portion of the total commission advertised.
For example:

One Side of the Deal: 3% ($15,000)
Brokerage Split (70/30): Agent earns $10,500
